Still are thy gentle voices, thy nightingales awake. For Death, he taketh all away but these he cannot take.

They told me, Heraclitus, they told me you were dead;
They brought me bitter news to hear, and bitter tears to shed;
I wept as I remembered how often you and I
Had tired the sun with talking and sent him down the sky.

蕭叔叔特別喜歡tired the sun with talking and sent him down the sky一句。Tired the sun with talking如此詞語配搭新鮮,意思亦很明確,就是連太陽都受不了我們要先下山。

And now thou art lying, my dear old Carian guest
A handful of gray ashes, long, long ago at rest;
Still are thy gentle voices, thy nightingales awake
For Death, he taketh all away but these he cannot take.”

Death he taketh all away, but these he cannot take.
